When applying to University of Iowa, it's important to note the application deadline is April 01. The application fee at University of Iowa is $40. Scores for either the ACT or SAT test are due 01-APR-15. It is more selective, with an acceptance rate of 81 percent.

First-Year Admission
First-year students enroll in the Colleges of Liberal Arts & Sciences, Engineering, Business Nursing, Public Health, or Education. Specific requirements for these and the other UI colleges that admit undergraduates follow:


College of Engineering
To be admitted, you must:
Present an ACT math score of 25 or higher, (SAT math: 640*/620**), and a cumulative GPA of 3.00.
Meet the Regent Admission Index (RAI) score requirement of 245 or higher for Iowa residents, 255 or higher for residents of other states.


Tippie College of Business—Direct Admission Program
Present an ACT composite score of 26 or higher (SAT: EBRW+M 1240*/CR+M 1170**).
Present a high school GPA of 3.60 or higher.


College of Liberal Arts & Sciences
To be admitted, you must:
 Meet the Regent Admission Index (RAI) score requirement of 245 or higher for Iowa residents, 255 or higher for residents of other states.


College of Education
The college offers degree and licensure programs for students interested in teaching at the elementary (grades K-6) and secondary (grades 7-12) levels.
First-year students enroll in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and indicate an interest in elementary education or major in the field they would like to teach (English, Spanish, mathematics, etc.) for secondary education. After completing required courses, students apply to a teacher education program in the College of Education. Admission is competitive.
First-year students who present an ACT composite score of 27 or higher (SAT: EBRW+M 1280*/CR+M 1210** ) and a high school GPA of 3.8 or higher are admitted directly to the Elementary Teacher Education Program.
