Information About the New SAT

The new SAT exam consists of two sections, each graded on an 800-point scale, and an optional essay. Williams does NOT require the optional essay.

Williams will accept scores from the old SAT and the new SAT. For applicants who wish to send scores from both exams, we will use concordance tables to determine which exam places you in the best standing in our evaluation process. We will NOT superscore across the old and new SAT, but will consider the highest testing results reported for each version of the test.

Application Requirements for International Applicants

Given the number of international applicants to Williams annually, the Admission Committee is familiar with the nuances of school systems and curricula from around the world. Therefore, international applicants follow the same application procedures as U.S. citizens and are not required to submit any additional forms or testing. Those students whose first language or language of academic instruction is not English must document their English proficiency, but there is no one required examination. While we are happy to review TOEFL or IELTS results, such examinations are not requirements for admission to Williams.

Need-Blind Admission

Williams has a need-blind admission policy for domestic students, including undocumented students and those with Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status. That means we admit the most qualified and compelling students without regard for their ability to pay—your family’s financial circumstances will never play a role in our admission decision. We consider financial aid money well spent—an investment in our community. While we are not need-blind for international students, nearly 60% of international students at Williams receive financial aid from the College and their financial aid awards average $60,000 annually.

대다수 SSAT 90% 이상 받아.

Homework 열심히 했던 학생들 대다수 SSAT 90% 이상 받아.

미국 보딩 준비를 위한 SSAT / TOEFL 준비, 시험 1년 전부터 시작해야.

어제 한국의 OO 국제 학교 8학년 학생이 SSAT 수업을 시작했습니다.

SSAT 의 경우 한국계 학생들은 대부분 Math 를 90% 이상 받아서 Verbal 과 Reading 이 고득점의 여부를 결정짓는 경우가 많습니다.

Reading 은 SAT/ACT 와 같이 코스웍 훈련을 통해 점수가 향상되지만,

Verbal 의 경우 학생의 노력이 보다 강조되는 학습이 진행됩니다.

매시간 찰스샘이 내주는 빈출 단어 암기 숙제를 충실히 한 학생들은 Verbal 90% 정도는 쉽게 받습니다.

결과적으로 찰스샘의 SSAT 수업과 Homework 을 열심히 한 학생들 대부분 90% 이상을 넘기는 것이 보통입니다.

10월 시험을 앞두고 있는 8학년 학생들은 마지막까지 끈기와 집중력으로 최선을 다해 시험 준비에 임해야겠습니다. ~

Standardized Tests

Penn State requires first-year international students to submit an official score from the SAT or ACT examination.

Writing Component and Subject Test

Please note: The writing component of standardized tests (SAT or ACT) is not required. The writing component will not be used as part of our evaluation. If your test scores include the writing component, by all means, have those scores sent to Penn State. Additionally, we do not require SAT Subject Tests.

The Provost's Award program is designed to encourage student success and promote the financial accessibility of a Penn State education.

Federal and State Student Aid Programs

Penn State participates in the major federal and state grant, loan and work-study programs. These funding sources make up the majority of all student aid funding with education loans the largest program. Eligibility is determined based on information on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Student aid funds are awarded based on each applicant’s relative financial need until all funds are exhausted. Program regulations limit the University’s ability to make exceptions to the eligibility criteria.
